Lining lipstick removal and leather restoration

1. Cleaning: 1. Lambskin surface: mix Aniline Leather Cleaner and Leather Cleaning Additive at 3:1; dilute with 5~10 times hot water and add 5% Heavy-Duty Degreaser. Wipe or brush away dirt. Add 5% Anti-Mould Bactericide if mould is present. 2. Fabric lining: for visible dirt and multiple lipstick marks, dilute Textile Fabric Cleaner with 5~10 times hot water and add 10% Heavy-Duty Degreaser, then brush clean. Refer to the video for brushing technique.

2. Damage repair: 1. Sand raised, worn fibres smooth with 800-grit fine sandpaper. 2. This case has only slight abrasion, raised fibres and colour loss, with no missing leather or major damage. Apply only a thin layer of Topcoat Finishing Repair Paste to repair and seal the surface. Do not apply too much; the thinner the better. Colour can then be applied.

3. Colour mixing: 1. Mix Smooth Leather Resin, Texture Enhancer and Oil-Wax Enhancing Additive at 5:1:1, tint with colour paste and add 6~10 drops of crosslinker before spraying. 2. For the lemon-yellow tone, add an appropriate amount of Super-Vivid Lemon-Yellow Colour Paste to increase saturation.

4. Colour coverage: First hand-cover repaired areas using a high-density sponge or cotton bud. Build several even coats, allowing each to dry completely before the next to avoid crumbling and colour loss. Then spray evenly with medium air and medium fluid.

5. Final sealing: Spray Colourless Extra-Soft Fixative. If high gloss is required, choose High-Gloss Extra-Soft Fixative.

Process insights

Understand the sequence and decisions

Additional explanations based on this case’s original record.

Treat lipstick marks on the lining and the outer lambskin separately, then proceed to minor repairs and leather restoration.

Separate areas on the same item

The source gives different cleaning arrangements for lambskin and lining. Do not combine them into one whole-bag treatment.

Cover local repairs before spraying

Hand-cover the repairs first, then spray the whole bag for evenness. These two application methods have distinct roles.

Choose colour and gloss separately

The mixing stage addresses lemon-yellow saturation; the final coat addresses gloss. Check both goals.
