1. Pre-fix the colour: Red suede can lose colour severely, so the source requires an acid treatment before cleaning to fix the colour. Dissolve Anti-Yellowing Colour-Brightening Neutralising Acid in hot water, adjust the pH to about 3 and brush-clean once as usual.

2. Cleaning: Dilute Suede and Nubuck Cleaner with 10~15 times hot water and add 5% Heavy-Duty Degreaser. Wipe or brush away dirt. Where mould is present, also add 5% Anti-Mould Bactericide.

3. Second acid treatment: After cleaning, repeat step 1. Its stated roles are: 1. Remove remaining dirt and cleaner so the nap is drier and fresher. 2. Fix and brighten the colour to prevent darkening and uneven light/dark areas.

4. Colour mixing: Mix Special-Effect Suede Colouring Agent, Suede and Fabric Colour Paste and High-Concentration Dye Solution to match the colour, then set aside.

5. Colour application: Spray evenly at medium air and medium fluid, using a hairdryer alongside spraying to dry quickly. Wet suede appears darker, so drying allows a more accurate colour judgement.

4. Colour fixing: Spray Suede Fixative to fix the colour and improve colourfastness.

Fixing follows application and addresses colourfastness. A close colour match and a completed process are separate checkpoints.
