Identify genuine leather, exotic skins and composite fabrics. Examine aniline, waxed and oiled leather, patent leather, suede, textiles and specialist finishes using real samples.
Brand background, familiar classic designs and authentication basics, including how to protect features used in authentication during care.
Use vintage handbag cases to assess restoration options and resale risks, considering original construction and restoration style.
Intake procedures, damage-based pricing and quotations for combined treatments; practise customer communication and anticipating issues.
Identify previous treatments, replacement parts, splicing and assembly work. Assess the conditions for further restoration and review intake risks through cases.
Products, techniques and precautions for smooth leather, absorbent leather, suede, nubuck, canvas, exotic skins and PVC.
Practise cleaning and conditioning different materials, review problems and learn how to prevent and address them.
Learn colour mixing and physical sample comparison, and how to repair edge paint while respecting the original finish.
Practise colour matching, edge work and repairs on actual handbags, refining colour and texture as you work.

Colour touch-ups, recolouring, colour changes, handbag reshaping and setting, and patent leather colour changes, combining assessment, colour matching and surface repairs.
Work with airbrushes and spray guns, air-pressure settings, multi-colour application, spot spraying and gradients, building a complete process through repeated practice.
Focus on completing an entire item independently, from observation and planning through treatment, result checks and review.
Depending on progress, explore patent leather restoration in its original colour, leather plating, multi-coloured metallic finishes, enamel and baked coatings on metal, with continued practice and immediate feedback.
The schedule is organised by day and training stage. Teaching order and the depth of advanced cases may vary with available materials, student experience and progress.

08 / BEFORE YOU JOIN
Understand the learning format and attendance arrangements before choosing a course.
Tell us your experience and goals so the academy can discuss a suitable learning arrangement. The programme starts with material and treatment assessment, then progresses to practical exercises.
Teaching combines explanations, instructor demonstrations and related exercises. Days 10–15 focus on integrated training; days 16–20 centre on independent complete-item work, with advanced techniques introduced through cases.
Training enquiries and enrolments are open. Contact the academy to confirm intake dates, in-person tuition fees, available places and attendance arrangements.
Training takes place in Foshan, Guangdong. When confirming your dates, ask about the address, transport and any assistance with meals and accommodation.
