1. Cleaning: Use the pump-foam Leather Stain Cleaner to clean surface dirt.

2. Check for wear: Wear is the dividing point in difficulty. If there is wear, follow the patent-leather process and previous patent-bag restoration guidance to first create an undamaged patent base over the whole bag, then proceed to step 3.

3. Create the metallic colour: Blend Leather Electroplating-Effect Paint colours to match the original bag. Important: because of this paint's special behaviour, test colour only by spraying. Hand application gives an inaccurate colour.

4. Water-based clear topcoat: Finally spray Water-Based Super Patent Leather Clearcoat, adding 10 drops of Enhanced Curing Crosslinker to improve resistance to solvent wiping.

5. Application notes: Spray the metallic-effect paint thinly; the thinner the better the effect. Use medium air and somewhat low fluid, move steadily and avoid dust that could cause defects.

6. Key environmental note: Avoid spraying this paint on rainy days where possible. High humidity can affect the colour.

Process insights

Understand the sequence and decisions

Additional explanations based on this case’s original record.

Choose preparation according to wear, then restore the finish with spray-tested colour and a clear topcoat.

Wear determines the preparation branch

If worn, the source first calls for a patent-leather base. Do not skip this branch and go straight to metallic colour.

Keep the specified colour-test method

The source requires spray testing because hand-applied colour is inaccurate. The testing method is a key condition.

Read thin spraying together with environmental notes

The source combines thin, steady passes with dust and humidity precautions, all relevant to appearance.

Questions and answers

Can metallic-effect colour be tested by hand?

The source explicitly requires spray-gun testing and says hand-applied colour is inaccurate.
