As moisture moves and dries, product and soiling can collect at its edge, leaving a tide mark. Pale and absorbent leathers are especially sensitive.
What to check
- Does the material readily absorb moisture and darken?
- Is there already a sharply defined stain boundary?
- Can treatment end naturally at a construction line?
- Are ventilation and drying conditions even?
Next steps
- Test controlled dampening in an inconspicuous area.
- Limit moisture per unit area.
- Blend the damp boundary gently.
- Lay the item appropriately for natural drying, then inspect again.
Do not chase the boundary with hot air or repeatedly re-wet a partly dried area. Both can make rings more pronounced.
