A good record provides evidence of the initial condition, decisions during work and the final result.
Information to retain
- Existing wear and ordinary signs of use.
- Treatments already attempted by the customer.
- Test results and confirmed risks.
- New findings, changes to the plan and authorisation.
Shop procedure
- Confirm the starting condition together at intake.
- Keep text and photographs for important stages.
- Communicate changes promptly, rather than explaining them only afterwards.
- Compare before and after side by side at handover.
Keep records accurate and complete while protecting customer privacy. Blurred images or selectively favourable angles should not be used to create a misleading difference.
