Excess product extends drying, leaves residue and changes sheen and feel. Thin, even applications offer better control than trying to obtain the entire result at once.
Check first
- Read the label and suitable-material guidance.
- Assess how much product the tool holds.
- Consider the treatment area and rate of absorption.
- Check for slippery or sticky residue after drying.
Working sequence
- Distribute a small amount on the tool.
- Apply a thin layer without local build-up.
- Wait for stability before deciding whether more is needed.
- Assess evenness and a natural feel.
Further buffing does not reliably resolve over-application. Excess can attract dust, enter stitching or darken pale leather.
