Excess product extends drying, leaves residue and changes sheen and feel. Thin, even applications offer better control than trying to obtain the entire result at once.

Check first

  • Read the label and suitable-material guidance.
  • Assess how much product the tool holds.
  • Consider the treatment area and rate of absorption.
  • Check for slippery or sticky residue after drying.

Working sequence

  1. Distribute a small amount on the tool.
  2. Apply a thin layer without local build-up.
  3. Wait for stability before deciding whether more is needed.
  4. Assess evenness and a natural feel.

Further buffing does not reliably resolve over-application. Excess can attract dust, enter stitching or darken pale leather.
